Re: 92% of Season Ticket Holders have renewed!
My guess is that a bad season has put a lot of the waiting list off. If next season is as bad or worse they will be begging people to take season tickets.

Yes Peterboro I was also asked how many Seats i wanted but how I moved from 40000 to being offered a season ticket in 2 weeks is anybody’s guess

Re: 92% of Season Ticket Holders have renewed!
At last proof if needed that the waiting list was always a total load of bollocks as if there were 50,000 extra fans suddenly wanting to go watch West Ham and it turns out that a lot of the 54,000 sellout games have only been attended by about 40,000 fans anyway

Re: 92% of Season Ticket Holders have renewed!
Four in the family were on the list, three bought tickets all together, seems to be some availability. I think it will obviously be more popular if watching a decent team not dross.

Re: 92% of Season Ticket Holders have renewed!
Update: Well there's a turn up for the book !!

Joined April 2017

August 2017 Rang Ticket Office Told there were over 50,000 on the list

April 2018 was told I was 40,474 on the list

22nd June 2018 rang to ask, after all the recent renewals had been made, where I was on the list, was told I had a window today was offered various bands and finally took up the offer of a season ticket. By the way if I hadn't have rang to see where I was on the list wouldn't have known, no text message or email.

So whichever way you want to spin it, their figures of an original waiting list of over 50K was a load of cobblers!!

Re: 92% of Season Ticket Holders have renewed!
I think if trust were won back, just about everyone would renew early if they can afford it.

Re: 92% of Season Ticket Holders have renewed!
I'm not sure about people renewing so early! I reckon the relocation promise is the one nugget to prompt people to do so (along with paying in installments) but otherwise i think the majority like to leave it close to deadline in order to keep their money for as long as possible and not give the current owners the opportunity to make yet more money from us off the interest on it.

I renewed ASAP last summer so I could have my pick of available seats. Very happy with what I got so I waited until the deadline was almost upon me this year.

There are plenty of long suffering loyal supporters that this idea would pander to, Jaan.

I’m sure we are all aware of many fans that have lost all trust for our owners, and don’t believe they will do their upmost to buy quality when they know all season tickets have already been sold.

I believe it would be admirable of them to offer the choice to the dubious minority.

What Scorchio said, lily.

Going to a sporting event has no guarantees of a specific out come, that's the beauty of it. Otherwise the likes of side of ham would be able to sue the club for breach of contract for a lack of possession and entertainment.

Football probably isn't for the likes of the sort of person your idea would pander to.

Re: 92% of Season Ticket Holders have renewed!
The practicalities would need work, but I’m sure they could be managed, especially as clearly the vast majority renew early anyway.

Only 8% would be in this boat this time. Some of those may have renewed if convinced the board meant business.

As I said, this represents much better customer service, where ST holders have the choice to wait and see.

I totally see what you're getting at- but again, the club would be completely shooting themselves in the foot by doing this. It would be an insane fashion in which to run a business. I think they also make decisions based upon season ticket sales, so not knowing those would really hamper things in that respect too. As ever the club always hold the aces!

To be fair, EN is right too. They'd have only a few hours to process all the applications and get card/tickets sent out to potentially tens of thousands of people. Inevitably that may go very wrong too.

Jaan

I suspect most would renew early, as they have done, I just think it would be better customer service to give people the choice to wait and see before weighing out.

I don’t see what’s so nonsensical.

Jaan Kenbrovin 7:10 Mon Jun 4
Re: 92% of Season Ticket Holders have renewed!
But how do you and they quantify good business?

It’s only in hindsight that transfers can be assessed properly. I thought we did good business at the time in the last two summers and still ended up in relegation battles, with the majority proving to be unsuccessful.

It’s an absolute nonsense idea, Lily.

Eggbert

Could you rephrase that last question?

Lily Hammer 7:00 Mon Jun 4
Re: 92% of Season Ticket Holders have renewed!
Scorchio

There are many long term loyal fans who do not like having to renew so early, not knowing if the owners will seriously invest in the squad.

It doesn’t strain the imagination to believe the owners would feel compelled to get good business done if they weren’t sure how many would renew otherwise.

May 2017 season ticket terms and conditions - http://seasontickets.whufc.com/assets/Season-Ticket-Terms-Conditions.pdf

Failure to attend more than 7 Premier League games may result in the Club withdrawing your season ticket. Utilising the Official Ticket Exchange or Official Ticket Transfer will constitute as attending.

Looks like the rule i'm going on about, they'd be tossers to follow through on this after what they've made promises about, be a scam in any other line of business purely because of what they've wangled to get their customer base on side for a move.

They should just stick their heads down and concentrate on the product so this rule of theirs isn't put into action to supporters who really don't want them to profit anymore than they already do so.

what would happen if people didn't renew, assuming the ticket off be in 90am the next morning do they ring people on the waiting list and tell them they hav three hours to come up with the cash and get tothe stadium for the first game?

El Scorchio 6:51 Mon Jun 4
Re: 92% of Season Ticket Holders have renewed!
They'd be absolutely shooting themselves in the foot.

I would probably question what sort of fan someone might be if they only make the decision to buy a season ticket or not based on who we've bought and sold in that transfer window. Wouldn't that just encourage more fairweather types and those fans of other teams with WHU season tickets some seem so obsessed with? :)

Lily Hammer 6:51 Mon Jun 4
Re: 92% of Season Ticket Holders have renewed!
If you have a season ticket yet to be renewed, it would be understood that your seat will be on general sale for the first match or two until the new hypothetical renewal deadline is reached, after which your seat would be offered to someone on the waiting list.

Not difficult or complicated.
